Designed by an Austin artist and remodeler, this gorgeous trailer has a completely remodeled interior that gives it a light, airy, modern look. Sustainable bamboo flooring, glass tile shower, Moen waterfall sink fixtures, and white cabinetry and walls, all add to the delightful ambience of life in an Airstream. The kitchen area features a stainless steel kitchen backdrop, glass tile backsplash, induction cooktop, microwave, and wine rack. Ocean blue cushions, brightly patterned pillows, and original artwork engraved in the aluminum panels create a playful space. The maple dining table top slides down and the side cushions fold in to make a very comfortable queen bed with a view of the sky out the “Vista View” windows. The back bed is a twin that doubles as a couch. A wall-mounted television with DVD player and a Bluetooth capable sound system with 4 speakers add the final touches to the Airstream experience.

Converted to all electric for safety. All lighting and media are 12 volt which allows for several hours of running off the trailer batteries without being plugged in, and are energy saving. The 2 full-sized trailer batteries are recharged while plugged in to a 220V, 30-amp source, and power the 12 volt system through a converter. Refrigerator, heater, and AC are 120V on a separate line. Air circulation is provided through vents, 2 with built-in fans.Mechanical
New leveling jacks installed at the rear. Locks were reconfigured. Front door weather stripping was removed and replaced. The bathroom shower was totally rebuilt and lined with AVM System 750 – a non-toxic under tile waterproof membrane and anti-fracture membrane (liquid rubber), and tiled with glass tiles.
Most plumbing has been redone. The toilet is an eco-friendly American Standard with dual flush and a soft close seat. The water heater is relatively new, and the water pump is available for when on the road, but currently not hooked up. Gray water and black water tanks can hold up to 20 flushes before hooking to a septic system.
The trailer remodel is geared for “park” style, meaning used as a cabin or extra lodging that most often stays in place. However, all the traveling elements including water and wastewater storage are in working order. Ninety percent of the interior walls are built of Ultra-light plywood, a special order product which is 60% lighter than conventional plywood to keep the travel weight to a minimum.
Just polished to a gleaming finish. All metal seams were meticulously stripped and resealed with Seamer Mate. Awnings are available but will need the fabric reinforced and possibly additional supports. Door rebuilt and new sealing tape added.
Original parts were restored and reused whenever possible to reduce waste and consumption and to preserve the character of the Airstream. Sustainability and low toxicity of any new products or parts was always a primary consideration.
